Research Area: Video Processing
I am a Director of Research and Development at DisneyResearch|Studios where I lead a team focusing on machine learning for image and video processing. My work has directly impacted film production with recent movie credits on Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, and Avatar 3. I was also honored with a Technology Emmy for video compression contributions to the Disney+ platform and a Lumiere Award for our stereo conversion technology. Prior to joining Disney Research, I received a PhD degree in computer science and a master’s degree in visual computing from Saarland University. I also obtained a diploma in business and computer science from Nordakademie, Germany while working at Philips Healthcare.
